  1. Soak daal for few hours.
  2. Boil till tender.
  3. Chop onions and tomatoes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan.
  5. Add in onions and fry till light golden.
  6. Add in tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are tender and mashed.
  7. Add in yoghurt,ginger garlic,daal,hot sauce and all the spices.
  8. Stir them well.
  9. Cook covered till slightly thickens.
  10. Heat oil in a pan.
  11. Add in all the tarka ingredients.
  12. Let them sizzle for few seconds.
  13. Pour tarka over daal.
  14. Serve with naan/roti/rice.
